Our Upcoming Courses & Accommodation:
Welcome to our seafront 90 acrea property on Cork’s stunning Beara Peninsula in the south coast of Ireland. Johan and Karin manage specialised courses for dental professionals.
Your Course Leaders & Hosts
Johan
Johan (Dutch) is a dentist, specialized in oral surgery, concerning periodontics (disease of the gums) Implantology and oral bone reconstruction. He invented and developed a dental ceramic implant system, now known under the brand “patent” (www.mypatent.come). He does not actively implant anymore but gives courses and information for private people and dentists who are interested.
Karin
Karin (German) has studied economics and worked as a broker when she met Johan. Together they managed the dental activities on patients as well as starting the production of implants and organizing courses for dentists and dental technicians. Ceramic implants are different compared to titanium implants and all ceramic implants are also not the same.
The Patent™ Prosthetic Concept
-
A Strong Connection
Drawing inspiration from the natural tooth, the Patent™ Prosthetic Concept applies classic endodontic principles to maintain bone level stability, prevent micromovement and ensure long-term implant function.
-
Glass Fiber Post
Reinforced with high-performance glass fiber, this completely customizable abutment is cemented into the two-piece Patent™ Implant. Embedded inside the crown and the implant platform, the dentin-like post attenuates masticatory forces transferred from the crown to the implant, minimizing the risk of implant fracture and maximizing its long-term performance.
-
Optimal Force Transmission
Designed for tissue stability and long-term function: The Patent™ Implant’s tulip-shaped collar, in combination with its adhesive connection to the post and the crown, optimizes force transmission to the bone and prevents micromovements. As a result, the marginal bone level is maintained over the long term.
-
Long-Term Performance
Designed to overcome a major drawback of conventional prosthetic connections, the Patent™ Prosthetic Concept has been proved by science. An independent long-term study conducted over 9 years reported marginal bone level stability and gingival recession of < 1 mm around all the implants and no implant fractures.
Patent™ – More than
the Sum of its Parts
Patent™ emerges as a comprehensive tooth replacement solution which stands as the sole system today capable of averting late-term biological complications, such as peri-implantitis, while ensuring sustained functionality over the long term.
Patent™ Dental Implant System
-
Soft-Tissue-Level Design
The soft-tissue-level design of Patent™ avoids a microgap at bone level and places the crown margin so that it is accessible for home hygiene and maintenance. As a result, a strong soft-tissue seal forms around the implant collar, preventing bacteria from entering the tissue and causing chronic inflammation like peri-implantitis.
-
Ideal Surface Topography
Only the Patent™ BBS Surface offers the roughness necessary for predictable osseointegration. Its transgingival portion is machined to promote strong and lasting soft-tissue attachment. Its ideal surface topography allows the Patent™ Implant to achieve unprecedented tissue integration.
-
Innovative Prosthetics
Together with its adhesive connection to the crown, the tulip-shaped Patent™ collar optimizes force transmission to the bone while eliminating micromovement. As a result of this strong connection, the marginal bone level is maintained, as was impressively shown in an independent 9-year study.
